07/19/2010 - Philadelphia, PA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Louis Oosthuizen parlayed his first major championship victory into a huge jump in the world rankings.
Oosthuizen cruised to a seven-stroke win at the British Open this past weekend and jumped 39 places from 54th to 15th in the world.
The top six remained the same, but there was plenty of movement behind them.
Tiger Woods held on to the top spot and was again followed by Phil Mickelson, Lee Westwood, Steve Stricker, Jim Furyk and Ernie Els.
Rory McIlroy and Paul Casey shared third behind Oosthuizen at St. Andrews and that gave both of them a two-spot bump to Nos. 7 and 8. To make room for their moves, Luke Donald and Ian Poulter both fell two places to ninth and 10th.
U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell remained 11th and he was followed by Martin Kaymer and Anthony Kim, who exchanged places from last week. Robert Allenby held steady in 14th and he was trailed by Oosthuizen.
Retief Goosen climbed four places to 16th, while Padraig Harrington and Justin Rose fell two spots each to 17 and 18.
Sean O'Hair moved up five places to 19th, while Zach Johnson was down a pair to 20th. Camilo Villegas and Edoardo Molinari both tumbled four places out of the top 20 to 21st and 23rd, respectively.

Defensively, the Bucs recorded four sacks and held the Fins offense in check all day.
First round draft pick Aqib Talib was impressive in the secondary, recording a tackle and two pass defenses in his debut. Don’t be surprised to see Talib in the starting lineup opposite Ronde Barber for the Bucs in ’08.
The betting trends suggest that NFL bettors should be backing the Bucs in this intra-conference exhibition.
These two teams hooked up last year in Tampa Bay, with the Bucs winning that game 13-10. The Buccaneers have only lost one preseason game at home dating back to the beginning of the ’05 preseason. The Indianapolis Colts know that winning the Super Bowl last season put a huge target on their backs, and they expect opponents to go all-out to knock them from the top of the mountain.
They’ll get their first test from the New Orleans Saints this Thursday night. The defending champs had nothing but good things to say about the New Orleans defense this past week, praising their opponents’ pass rush and run-stopping abilities.
"They play very aggressively," head coach Tony Dungy told the New Orleans Times-Picayune. "They play a lot of man-to-man coverage, and they come after you. They have good pass rushers, and they're going to try to pressure us, I'm sure."
Both center Jeff Saturday and quarterback Peyton Manning gave New Orleans’ front four props, admitting keeping guys like Will Smithand Charles Grant contained would be a tall task for the offensive line.
New Orleans ranked second in total defense during the preseason at a sportsbook, allowing just under 233 yards per game. Last season, the defense finished 11th in the league after giving up 307.3 yards and 20.1 points per contest.
Not so sound on the ground
If Indianapolis' efficient offense has a weakness it has to be its running attack. The Colts one-two-punch of Dominic Rhodes and Joseph Addai is no longer, leaving the bulk of the carries to Addai, the second-year back out of LSU.
